If you are a beginning wind or kitesurfer, check for low tide, the current is less and the waves are smaller.

The tide tables are also coming in handy, if you are planning to go to Langebaan. It's the best to go there when the tide is coming up, so that the current is against the wind.

For the experienced riders, that surf at Platboom: With low tide the waves form better at the sandbar. The beach where you start off is very small, with high tide, especially when the waves are big, the beach is gone.
