Cape Town is a real windsurfing and kitesurfing paradise.
It is a perfect destination for your windsurf or kitesurf vacation. It’s only a 12-hour flight away with a time difference of just one hour during the South African summer.

The prevailing wind is the South-East and the main spots stretch North from the Cape. That means port tack jumping and starboard tack wave riding.

When you see the ‘table cloth’, the cloud that covers the top of the table mountain, it’s a sign that the wind is going to blow, or it’s probably already quite windy.
The wind starts at Muizenberg side first and then fills in at Table Bay, it progress its way North.
Sunset Beach is the place where it starts, the wind fills in there first. During the day, usually around one o’clock the wind picks up a lot. When it gets to strong, it's time to move more up North.

Occasionally the wind is North-West, which is great for windsurfing at Whitesands or kitesurfing in Table Bay.
